I’m 34 years old, ‘semi-retired’ and live by one of Australia’s best beaches with my partner, who also works part time. We live a great and mostly relaxed life – thanks to some hard work and investing throughout our 20s and early 30s.
This blog is to serve as a diary for how we got here, and to make a record of where we go in the future and how our lives might change over time.
There are so many paths to financial independence and everyone has their own definition of what a free and rich life is, but if the concept of financial independence or early retirement interests you, I hope my story serves as a useful data point that provides value or insight for your own journey.
I thought about starting a blog for a long time… but could never get motivated to put pen to paper (fingers to keys?). This was especially true during the super intense working years.
It’s now been just over a year since I switched gears at the age of 33, to live a more peaceful and relaxed life. After some extended travel and some interesting personal projects, I think I’ve found the motivation to give this thing a shot.
